Hello friends!
We are writing to inform you that we are off into the wild on safari for the next 7 days! Unfortunately, we will not have internet access - in fact, we will be without electricity entirely for the next week unless it's solar powered! So, we promise to catch you up on all of our interactions with the wildlife we encounter when we return to Nairobi next weekend. If you'd like to follow what we are doing from day to day, we've posted a basic outline of our itinerary below. Please enjoy and for any upcoming 4th graders following, can you make any connections between our safari trip and Safari Journal? We love reading your posts!
July 18th - 19th - Amboseli National Park & Porini Camp
A jeep will meet us for a full morning game viewing. Following, we will be served a picnic lunch in the park. In the evening we will enjoy a sundowner as a scenic viewpoint while we look for aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, and African wild cats.
July 20th-21st - Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast at Amboseli, we will fly to Porini rhino camp where we will enjoy two full days of game watching, looking to spot elephants, lions, rhinos, buffalo, cheetahs, and giraffes. We will even take a Maasai guided walk through the savannah and visit the neighboring Sweetwaters Ranch and the Jane Goodall Chimp Sanctuary.
July 22nd - 24th - Maasai Mara Porini Camp
We will fly to southern Kenya into the Maasai Mara. Here we will observe one of the 7 natural wonders of the world - the wildebeests migration from the Serengeti to the Mara. We will also visit Maasai villages and schools and see how these peaceful people coexist with the wildlife and the modern world.
We will check in on the 25th! Ciao for now! Danielle & Terri
I have read through all the postings that I didn't read.
ReplyDeleteHi Danielle and Terri,
What a fantastic world in Africa! The two candlenut trees are really growing up well because they cherish so many wishes from both schools.
Danielle, are you blowing vuvuzella in the balcony? While I was watching World Cup Soccer Matches on TV, the sound of vuvuzella was bothering me so much. It seemed like endless noise-.-!
Hi Ladies,
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the pics of all the animals. You are courageous to be exploring all these corners of the wild. We look forward to your next post.
Love,
Ms Borr and Mike Wuschke
Hi Danielle and Terri,

T: You lucky duck! Migrating wildebeests takes me right back to being fresh from the bath watching TV in my PJs with my dad...Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom! Remember that show? J
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of you Wellner! Chic in Talbott's but can rough it on an African safari with no electricity for 7 days. The men should be knocking down your door (make that, grass hut) ;)
