and the adventure begins...

Day 1

Upon successful flight to London Heathrow, a third party joined our trip. Five short fat hairy toes with a juicy bunion were peaking through Danielle's window seat throughout our entire 5 hour flight. Our first instinct was to run for cover as they wiggled toward us. However, by the end of the flight and after many moments of intrusive acquaintance, we surrendered and nicknamed them "Shrek". So sorry we missed the photo op! All was forgiven when the owner of the toes finally stuffed them into his sandal and kindly removed all of our ridiculously heavy luggage from the overhead bin. Tired and silly, here are a few pics of us checking out our YOTEL digs. Who knew you could have a room for 5 hours and just sleep?!

  1. Hey there you guys! Looks like the adventure started the moment you boarded the plane. I can't wait to hear more from you both. The pics are great!

  2. Love the pics! You're looking more like the gals in the Arboretum every day! You've missed a heat wave here in Boston and Danielle, we are all sweating it out, studying for the MTEL. Big torture!. Onward Ladies! Cheers, ellen

  3. Congratulations! I feel your enthusiastic energy for your mission in Kenya already! This Saturday, 13 alumni will volunteer for the Cape Verdean Event at UMass Boston. We are planning to work there from 7 in the morning till around 6 in the evening. Here, walking outside is like walking in the oven. Can't sleep well at night due to the hot and humid weather. How about there? I am anticipating your next posting.

  4. T: Wouldn't Joan Rivers be proud of that necklace you are rockin' in that headshot for the VIP. A stunner!

You are probably enjoying cooler temps than here at home. The tomatoes are the only happy ones.

Sox tanked in Tampa Bay...lost 4 straight. Keep travel safe! Love, J

  5. Ok these are the kinds of stories I'm totally into. The Shrek toe is hysterical. I would be so grossed out to have that hairy thing coming at me (That's what she said)...;)
